Default T4 Questions?

Sorry, this is my first post but I spent a couple of hours searching for answers but couldn't find them. Anyway, I have a 2004 Mazda RX8 that I am looking at boosting. I am looking at a kit that comes with a Turbonetics 11013-BB Turbo, Ball Brg., T4E-60, Stg 5 but I don't know much more than that.

My first question is what is the difference between the following 2 models? Is the Tang the A/R? If so, is there a larger A/R then .68?

11013-BB Turbo, Ball Brg., T4E-60, Stg 5, Tang.58
11011-BB Turbo, Ball Brg., T4E-60, Stg 5, Tang.68

Also, are these Water & Oil turbos?

Thanks in advance!

Those are basically the exact same turbos but with different A/Rs on the turbine housing. In regards to the turbos you can order your turbo from Turbonetics with either bearing section (oil cooled only or oil and water cooled). Yes there are larger A/Rs out there. I'm sure whoever put the kit together already has an A/R specced out for you.

Thanks Robert! I will be getting the first kit other then the prototype which is why I am asking. I want to know as much as possible about the turbo they are planning to order and any other posibilities so that if I need to ask for something different I can when I order. I know I want the oil and water cooled bearing section so I will be telling them that. What is the largest turbine A/R that is available with the 11013-BB? Also, what information can you give me about the available compressor sections? I have a 9000 rpm redline and I don't want the turbo to run out of steam before reaching my 400 whp goal...Any suggestions?

Personally I think that turbine section is a little small. Turbonetics can customize just about any turbine housing but as far as I know the largest A/R (standard size) for the Stage 5 is a .84 A/R. Typically rotary motor like larger A/Rs. For instance on a 13B the most popular turbine section is a P trim T4 turbine with a .84 A/R. This particular turbine section is a T3 Stage 5 turbine. A .68 or .58 A/R is just a bit too small I would think for a rotary but admittedly I am not a Renesis expert to make that judgement call. I know Speed Force Racing (www.speedforceracing.com) uses a true T4 turbine section (P trim I believe) on their RX-8 turbo kit. Hope that helps!
