Blue smoke between shifts?
just put a t3/t04e on my '88 BMW 325is... Now getting a nice puff of blue smoke (smells distinctively of oil) between shifts, only after boost (running 4psi). What might be going on?
There was no smoke prior to turbocharging the car.
Another thing; 50 trim T3/T04e A/R 62 hotside... 2.5 L motor, what RPM should I be getting decent boost?

Check the oil drain. It sounds like oil is either backing up in the bearig housing or it's being burned during compression. Might also check to make sure you have adequate vacuum in the PCV system.

I've checked the drain, no problems there. This model has no pcv valve... what should I check?

It could be blow by on the combustion side. Is there no crankcase ventilation at all? Something else you could check is the compressor and turbine housing. See if there is any oil build up in either housing. That would tell you whether or not the turbo is pressurizing oil at the cold side or if it is being expelled into the hot side from combustion or from a seal.
