Default Decoding Turbonetics Descriptions

Hi all, Just had a quick question for you, done lots of searching and seen helpfl info here and there but nothing really all inclusive on the turbonetics descriptions. For example Turbo, T3-Sb-S60-49-Std0_48, Turbo, T3_T4e-601-62-Std0_63, Turbo, T_Se-Bb-H70-68-Tund0_81 etc. (Note: I'm not just looking to figure out these codes in particular but rather I want to know how to understand them all.) I've looked around on the site but haven't found anything in particular that has cleared it up. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So lets break these down and that should help decipher the code:

The key is like this:
Compressor Housing-Bearing Type-Compressor Wheel-Turbine Housing/Turbine Housing A/R. For your first one:

T3 Compressor Housing-Standard Bearing-Super 60 Compressor Wheel-F1-49 turbine wheel-Standard Housing .48 A/R.

Next one:

T3/T04E Compressor Housing - 60-1 Compressor Wheel - F1-62 Turbine Wheel - Standard Housing - .63 A/R

Last One:
Turbo, T_Se-Bb-H70-68-Tund0_81

T Series Compressor Cover - Ball Bearing - HP70 compressor wheel - F1-68 Turbine Wheel - Tangential Undivided Turbine Housing .81 A/R

There isn't a master matrix no. Those are mostly production codes for the units that simplify the entering of the configuration into the build tracking system. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of them. Most of them I just know based on the abbreviation and looking at them for years now.

For instance, 10994-BB doesn't have bb in the description but it does in the part number, and I've seen this on other turbos as well, does a BB in the part number mean its a ball bearing turbo?

BB in the part number signifies a ball bearing center section although some units are only produced with a ball bearing center section but won't have BB in the part number. An exmaple would be the GT-K turbos.

Turbonetics only makes ceramic ball bearing turbochargers...
