What is a TC76 turbo?
Can anyone explain exactly what makes a TC76? I know it's a combination of Turbonetic pieces configured to make it a TC76 but what are those components?

A TC76 is to my knowledge an HP76 compressor wheel and an S trim turbine wheel. Aside from that I think FI.com does its own thing with those units. In other words they are built to FI.com specs using an HP76 compressor wheel and an S trim turbine wheel.

This is a pretty common question we get and Robert did a great job explaining what it is. I have no idea how or why people call it the TC76 but it all started with Jose at Forced Inductions. These are specially confirgured turbos which uses the 76mm compressor wheel in a smaller no traditional 60series (S-Cover).
These turbos also sport a F1-68 turbine wheel. The a/r on the turbine housing ranges from a .81 or a .96. And lastly you can get these with our patient ceramic ball bearing option or with standard journal bearing.
Hopefully this clears things up.

I don't know why they call it a TC76, Modular Turbo I think offers the same thing and calls it a MC76. I think you can get it with a .68, .81, .96 housing. What's the advantage of running a turbo like this versus a super T also what kind of horsepower can this turbo support?

I couldn't tell you if they do anything to the unit after it leaves Turbonetics so there may be no reason to run this over something else. The Super T76 has a larger compressor housing with an ASME compressor inlet and a larger major diameter. The HP76 compressor wheel and F1-68 turbine wheel are typically good for the 1000 HP range depending on the motor and what other modifications have been made to it. You could potentially make more of course as it would depend on the motors Ve and a ton of other factors.

10964 HP-76 / F1-68 .68 A/R Tang 1000
10963 HP-76 / F1-68 .81 A/R Tang 1000
10962 HP-76 / F1-68 .96 A/R Tang 1000
This is from the super T column in the catalog.
Would this be similiar to what is called a TC76 except with a different turbine wheel? Also is the A/R on here referring to the compressor or the turbine

The TC76 runs the exact same turbine wheel. It would be similar with the exception of the compressor housing yes. The A/R is referencing the turbine housing.

I don't think they do anything tlo the units, they are known to drop ship direct. I think what's interesting about this series of turbo (not just the tc76) is that on a LS1 motor you have guys running alot of different motor combinations, horsepower, redline with the same turbo just using different A/R housings. Seems like these turbos are efficient over a large envelope.

They are efficient across a large band. I just took another look at FI's site. They are calling the standard T76 turbocharger a TC76 for who knows what reason. They have their own specs as Reggie mentioned about but in the end it is just an HP76 compressor wheel and a F1-68 turbine wheel. The Super T76 has a bit higher possible power potential related to the larger compressor housing with the ASME compressor inlet.
