Default T3/T04E Super 50

I saw in the catalog the T04E Super 50 with the 2.122/3.200 wheel. Do you have a compressor map for this? I have seen it listed on a couple sites like AGP turbo, but have been unable to find a compressor map for it. Thanks!

Guess this question pretty much goes along with the other topic...but this is the map I am specifically interested in.

I don't believe a map was ever release for this unit. The Super designation means the major diameter is larger than the typical 3.00" and on the super is a 3.20 " major diameter. This would increase the airflow ability a bit but I don't have a map I can give you. I'll see if any of the Turbonetics guys know if one was released.

Thanks Robert. If you have the one for the super 60 that would be great too!

Default super 50 history trivia question

Robert, I've got a trivia question about the super 50 compressor wheel.
Do you know approximately what year this wheel was first introduced?
Thanks.

By the way, there was a pretty good article about this wheel in DSport magazine about 3 years ago. I don't remember if it had a compressor map. I'll take a look and see if I can find it.

I'll guess 2003 but I'm probably wrong. After a while you start to forget the historical stuff. I'm still working on that map by the way. I did find one site that might have them but I don't know how accurate it is.

Well after talking to everyone I know at Turbonetics the answer is they have not released one. What I can tell you is that from a map perspective its almost identical the T04E 50 trim map below but with the surge line shifted to the left. The larger housing reduce the potential for surge at lower compressor speeds. You basically move the surge limit back a bit without compromising peak flow and efficiency.

2003 sounds about right to me. I got the idea that it was still fairly new when the DSport article was written. Are you pretty sure that it wasn't around before about 2000? That's kind of what I was trying to figure out, was wondering if people had it in the late 90's.

Yeah that comment on the surge line moving to the left makes sense. It would do that since the inducer stayed the same size.
