Actually it's just painted and done by a co-worker here at Turbonetics for me. It seems many have liked the look of the black intercooler.

What did he use to paint it? I want mine to be all black (I don't care about the Spearco Logo for mine) but I would like my IC to be completely hidden that way it'll be even more sleeper I thought I remembered Robert saying something about if you just painted the IC it would clog or mess up the fins on the IC

It can reduce the thermal efficiency of the core yes. Swain tech does a flat black coating for intercoolers that is said to even improve the thermal transfer across the core...

intercoolers are for a purpose and that purpose is cooling the charge!!
now not advisable 2 paint them.
aluminium grabs the cold and transfers it across the whole core and will work well. painting the cooler will change the way the intercooler transfers the cool air supply across the core!!thus affecting the charge cool and thus affecting performance!!

Love the Z, how safe is it with that kit and the motor, been reading up alot lately on the Z and how many blown motors there are from SC to TT to even single Turbo applications on the Z cars. All usually prefer to build the shortblock first then boost.
