Default Shaft play?

OK my question to everyone is how much shaft play is too much? For about the last 2-3 weeks my car has been smoking. First it started as a very light almost like fog with no odor at all. It was also spitting water during warm up. I forgot to say that the smoke stops once the car reaches running temt.....I took to a buddy of mine who is a dyno engineer for GM and he said that what was happening is completely normal for my car because of the 93 octane plus running rich. He told me everything is was and I didnt understand a word cause he's crazy smart. Lately the smoke has gotten worse. But again its only during warm up. It seems like everyday it gets to be more and more smoke. ANd its getting more white everyday. I took off my intake pipe today to check for shaft play and I felt like there was more then it should have. When the turbo came to me it didnt have any. The car is still spitting water during warm up and I do have a TT set at a 5 minute run. Yesturday was the first day I felt like it could be oil burning during warm up. The smoke had a very very light tint of blue but it could be just me cause I'm freaking out here. Car still has alot of power and doesnt feel like Ive lost any.

Please anyone give me some advise.

Thanks!!!

Not sure if it matters but the car has no cats or resonators.

Cats and resonators aside its probably a turbo seal. Call support and they can send you a new one. If you are interested in checking pull the turbo off and check the turbine side for oil residue.

Yeah I called Turbonetics and talked to Steve and I'm sending out my turbo for them to look at it. After talking to Steve I think its a turbo seal. We will find out soon. My only problem right now is that my car is my only car. I need to find away to get around for a few days.

Take the turbo, manifold, and downpipe off and just put the stock manifold back on the car. Also unhook the unichip and plug the oil return line. You can roll around like that but you will be pig rich because of the bigger injectors. I've done it and it sucks but at least you can drive your car

Here's my question why do you have the TT set for 5 mins. That's a long time dude. Even after boosting my car hard when I pull in my driveway I only let it sit for up to 2 mins. if that.

Munch, What about the intake? I think Ive found a way around driving my car for a few day so hopefully I'll have this fixed by next weekend.

As for the TT. The 5 minutes is because thats how long it take the oil to cool down in the tC.

The oil is very hot after running the TC even at moderate levels. 2 minutes just isn't good enough to cool the oil down. 5 miutes usually does the job. My oil temp is usually around 223 degrees when I pull up to the house after driving the car at moderate boost. after 2 minutes the oil is still around 220-221 degrees. I never shut the car off until the oil temp is at or around 214-216 degrees.

Use the stock air box, and some dryer hose. You know the flexable stuff that ducts the air out of the dryer. It works like a charm
