T76 Turbo Rebuild help
I have an older T76 turbo Q-Trim I believe (at work so I dont have the serial with me). I have decided to tackle the rebuild myself, hell if I can rebuild a motor on my own I can rebuild a turbo. ?right? So I got the compressor and exhaust side turbine housing off and ran into a bit of a problem. There is this red paint substance as a form of locktite obviously on the compressor nut. I cannot get this off for the life of me.. I have tried just about everything (heat, elbow grease, pb blaster) to get this nut off with no luck. Am I missing something? Another strange feature of this turbo is it does not have a standard nut head on exchaust turbine for me to get a good grip on it.
Am I way out of line for attempting this? There are not any local shops in KC, MO that I can find that rebuild the turbo and Im just not to fond of sending it off.
Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Quick question, is the unit a ball bearing unit?

Not that I know of... Is there a characteristic that I would be able to identify that it is ball bearing externally?

That part number has a few too many digits for me to figure out what this is. As far as whether or not this is a ball bearing check this link:

Unfortunately that isn't a Turbonetics serial number
