Yes header primary size will affect turbo spool up. Keep in mind the larger the diameter the higher the volume of exhaust gas but the lower the velocity. The smaller the diameter the higher the velocity but the lower the volume. It's a trial and error game usually with custom headers. You need the right balance of volume and velocity for optimal performance.
