Bill,
I haven't discussed your units with anyone but you since we last talked. It depends on the amount of damage on whether or not they can balance the damage out. I'll hit up Greg and the sales manager and see what the deal is. Do you have a PO number, WA number or anything like that? It would speed things up in tracking down your exact units.

Thanks Bill. I'll give the manager a call in a second and see what the deal is.

Bill,
Did you recently have a motor failure? Just curious as I'm hearing it looks like some debris went through the turbine wheels. I'm still talking to the Sales/Support Manager to find out if there is any chance they can balance it out without replacing the wheel but I'm trying to get a sense of where the damage came from.

Yep......Brand new build and got a bad batch of valve springs....Broke one intake valve that did major damge thu out the whole motor....nothing else broke and 98% of the broken pieces stayed in the motor....had to replace all valves, springs, ti retainers, pistons, and a boat load of head damage.
Pieces were tiny and and like I said, i saw 2 fins with just a tiny wave on the the outside diameter, the other turbo had 1 fin that had a slight bend on the very extreme tip. Thats all I saw so that's why I'm questioning it.
Thanks,
Bill

Got it. I talked directly to the Manager of the Build team and the Sales/Support manager. Bottom line they don't think you should run these turbine wheels. It seems minor but when they got them on the VSR to balance the rotating assembly it was so far out they couldn't do anything to get them back in. If you do end up running them like this it won't be too much longer before the units self destruct. So again you have options. We can look at new turbochargers completely or you can look at repairing the units you have. Did they by chance give you a price to repair those units?

Robert,
Greg said the wheels were a P trim and no wheels r available anymore due to these being older style??? Hard to believe no wheels for such a popular turbo?
So, where do we go from here.....GT-K 550, 650 or new style TN 62-1??? This does create more issues sooooooooo, looking for ur help here.
Thanks,
Bill
