Default Power output from a T3/T04e??

Hi, I have just joined this forum but I have been checking it out for a while now.I have had this turbo for a couple of years now I bought it via ebay from america and had it shipped over here to the UK . It is new and the numbers on the sticker on the gold backing plate are : T-21878. on the exhaust housing 20358-3 .63 stg 111 m219020 .On the inside of the compressor cover 30431 E-57.
Am i right in saying this is a t3/t4 57trim with a stage 3 turbine with a big shaft ?
The engine it is going to be fitted to is a 2.0L ford sierra cosworth that has has alot of other head/cam fueling mods, the engine should be good for 500+ bhp but only want to run 430-450 hp . The VE of this engine should be very good, but what is the max hp that i should see from this turbo ?before i need to get a different turbo or get this unit upgraded
many thanks
Johnny

Hello! I would suggest downloading the compressor map and plotting several points along the map. This utility may help: http://michael.jeffries.googlepages.com/home

The peak flow of a T04E 57 trim compressor is about 47 lb/min of air or roughly 470 CHP. I think your goal of low to mid 400s is easily achievable in the 20+ PSI range with that unit.

Hi, many thanks for your help.I was not too sure on the lb/min of the compressor wheel as different websites show different figures for the wheel. If i was going to upgrade the wheel and comp cover what would be the best one to go for (if i req more power at a later date)
thanks again in advance
kind regards
Johnny

A T04E 60 trim is the next largest logical wheel for your current turbo. if you are looking for a lot more power though you would need something in the 60-1, 62-1, or T6x size or larger. It all depends on what your future power goal would be.

500chp should be about the max i would ever like to put through my gearbox/diff etc so that would be the final figure if i ever get bored with 430ish (you know we always want more!!!) What is the max boost recommended boost for the 57trim turbo ?
thanks

The T04E 57 trim compressor has a peak efficient pressure ratio of about 32 PSI. The T04E 60 trim has the flow potential for 50 lb/min of air which should easily get you to the 500 CHP level max you are thinking of now so that would be my logical upgrade path for you if you needed it.
