No Turbonetics has not personally installed the universal kit on a Tc. As for the GP I'm going to double check on that.
any word if the GP can be used to control the water injection rates?
I have the question in to Unichip. No response yet.

so I came home the other day to a box sitting on my door step. It's the water injection kit.

I also ordered a 2 bar bosch style map sensor from summit racing for about $40 and called autometer and had them send me out a wiring harness for the map sensor.

Once i get them I'll have a quick write up for all tC owners. It isn't that hard but it sounds like many are trying to get this going so I'll give it a shot.

Good stuff. Let me know if you need any help putting it in. I have air tools at my house too

neat stuff.

I used water and water/alky and alky injection in my previous cars. I had an alltrac and hung around a lot of GN/T-Type guys. then I bought a used SMC alky kit and installed into the alltrac. Then I bought myself an T-Type and moved the kit over to that car. water/alky injection is the way to go to get cooler charged air.

Shortly after, there was propane injection. A lot of people switched over to that...I just didnt like the idea of haveing a propane tank in my trunk. The principles of the idea looked really good...and more effective because unlike alky and water, it atomises (sp) faster and cools the charge air more.

I've looked into alternative DIY kits too. I came across one where it uses somethink like a catch can. It relies on boost pressure to regulate the flow of water/alky. Then it finishes off at a NOS plume nozzle. in line between the nozzle and the resivoir is a small ball valve and check valve. I've always wanted to try that...but I had already sold my T-Type.

Okay, I've got all but the nozzle and the 5v positive on the MAP installed.

I've been searching the net looking for the "right" spot to drill into the piping. Some sites say just after the IC but as far away from the throttle body as possible, and the next says 4"-6" from the throttle body but no more than a foot away!!! WHICH ONE???

So, where should I drill? I'm thinking about putting a little silicone on the threads and maybe some JB Weld outside to ensure a leak proof system. What do you think or is it even necessary?

Finally, can I tap into the 5v constant from the MAF sensor without overloading or tripping a fuse? It's the only 5v I could find but I don't want to mess that sensor up.

Other than that, the install was pretty straight forward. I took some pics so I'll get a write up going soon.
I just need to know the last few steps...

The 5 volt constant should be fine. I doubt there is much of a voltage drop. Are you sure the input voltage is 5 volts though for the GM map sensor. I thought it was a 12v constant in. As for placement I have always seen the nozzle placed close to the throttle body..

yes, I called Autometer to confirm each wire and it is a 5v switched.

I want to install the nozzle in a straight area but the only place prior to the throttle body is before the BOV. Will this matter? Or should I place it just after the BOV even though it is at a bend?

I would not place it before the BOV. I've seen people push it through a silicone coupler..Let me check with a tuner buddy of mine..

Let me know what your buddy says.

I've found a better solution for the 5v problem. Talked to autometer again (those guys are cool and know their stuff) and they strongly recommnend not splicing into the 5v from the MAF. Instead, Radio Shack has 5v regulators that you solder your 12v into and get 5v out to the sensor! perfect. All that's left is to find a place for the nozzle.
