The right tubro's for me????
Hey guys,
after owning many rotary vehicles, supercharged corolla, turbo forester, I have just picked up a new toy.
This time a v8.
2007 Ford Fairmont Ghia (i'm an Aussie, obviously)
it uses the same 3v v8 as the F150 in the US (i believe)
and a ZF 6 speed auto.
ex Ford Aus executive driven vehicle.
Now, as much as i am loving this luxury ford i just can't leave things alone.
so i have some 20's on the way,
and have been discussing LPG Liquid Injection which i'll be installing later in the year.
But me being me, i'm gunna want some boost sooner or later. (most likley sooner)
Hence why I am here.
what turbos best suit my needs.
5.4L v8 street car, mostly on 8-10psi
i'm not looking to screw every possible Kw out of it.
space is tight so will have to keep that in mind.
but thanks to the LPG-LI no need for an intercooler
and no need to squeese cooler pipes in
i had a pair of GTK-650's in mind or HP72's
I don't mind a little lag but obviously less is better
so Mr Turbonetics, what do you think is the one (two) for me?

I think the GT-K 650 is a nice unit but duals are going to present some lag. Remember twins on that matter means 2.7L of displacement per unit. That's not bad but that T4 turbine wheel might lag a bit with only 2.7L of displacement. I would likely go with twin GT-K 550s if you really want to do twins. Your power potential will be a bit lower but you wont have as much lag. If lag really is no object twin GT-K 650s will be just fine.

so where would the GTK's fit in to this table, arount T66 and T70?
what else is suited to this area? TN600BB, HP-66 BB ??
and how would they compare in performance to the other possible matches to my requirements?
size, price, spool time, etc.
extract from the "choosing a turbo" guide
and a quick photoshop with similar wheels to what its actually getting

We could talk different combinations of units all day really. I guess the real question I need an answer to is how much power are you looking to make?

Around 600kw on 12psi so 800hp at the wheels
So a pair of GTK-550 ( or similar) would be great, but a v band dump would help with space constraints.

If space is an issue you might consider two of these:
Hurricane 6665-4 BB Lety 500-600 HP-66 4.0" / 2.5" Ported Shroud F1-65 T4 0.81 A/R 3" V-Band 11226-BB
The Hurricanes are smaller form factor units. It has the 66mm compressor you want with the same turbine wheel as the GT-K 650 but in a smaller housing package and with a 3" V-Band

that sounds like it will be quite good.
is there a product drawing that is close to the actual size of this hurricane?
in MM would be even better

The compressor side should be represented in this drawing:
