Default What to do?

I have a t-76 journal bearing turbo. I have developed a oil smoke at idle. It has just started. So what I want to know is there anything I can do before sending turbo in for rebuild?

some items to look at:
excess crankcase pressure ,
pull intake tube off, and see if there is oil from turbo to engine.
check and see if the oil is coming from below the turbine inlet or turbine shaft area..
leak down the engine, to see if you have a engine problem and not turbo.
how much movement in the turbo shaft?

Thanks Ash I sent you a pm before I seen that you made a reply. How much shaft play is excessive? The coldside is clean....but there is oil in intake runners. Could that be it is such a fine mist that it collects at that point.
